Michael Sheetz

Michael became interested in photography at an early age, then in 1988 that he began exploring its technical aspects further.  He honed the technical side of the craft as a detective and crime scene photographer.  This provided him a great foundation in technique.  Like many photographers, the work of Ansel Adams was an early influence as he began to expand his technique and explore the more creative elements of the art form.

Currently he shoots mostly digital, but also maintains 35mm and medium format systems.

“I think one of the greatest choices I have made is moving into medium-format.  My first experience with medium-format was with an all-manual Mamiya RB67.  Aside from the obvious superiority of the 6X7 negative, only having 10 exposures to work with really forces you to slow down and contemplate the shot.

Michael has a passion for Action, Sports and Event photography, as well as portrait and editorial.
